So much is changing, help I cannot keep up. Do you ever feel that way? Technology is moving faster than I know how to keep up. Days are flying by faster each and every year, my parents always told me that & now I tell my children the same, :).
How to be a better marketer, how to be a better business person, how to be better... you name it. Sharing our process of becoming out best is really what we are meant to do only how? LOL... All I know is that I am bringing back an old favorite, our Saturday morning motivations. The best we can be is not to improve the whole world, but our own little world. What disciplines do you need to make life easier, less complicated, & better supported? Come join us on a weekly call as we share our little tips. Topics will vary each week from being disciplined to improving communication, tools that make us efficient. :). Let us know areas of your life you would like to be better supported in and we will make an effort to impact you. When are these new and exciting calls? They will begin every Saturday morning starting in October!!! A great way to kick off the fall season. Look for the call in number to come! Invite a friend to join you My new favorite person is Brendon Burchard. He is the author of the book, "The Charge", www.thecharge.com. It is free if you just pay for shipping. He offers three videos worth watching!!! I appreciate being challenged and then having a practical way to apply what I have learned. I copied his PDF of the 6 questions we need to ask ourselves every day. He challenged us to make videos to share with you all on impacting others and making a difference. I have decided to begin with a video on just being ORDINARY. I will share the path on finding ways to be excellent at being just Ordinary. Watch the video below that was inspired by my sister Viv Beck and Brendon Burchard, perhaps this will somehow impact and inspire you. It was in 2005 and I just read "The Path" by Laurie Beth Jones, and I have defined my mission by going through her book. I did not do this alone, I was mentoring women on a weekly teleconference and we each spent several weeks defining our personal missions. Here is my joy!!! I still like that purpose and now I have found a vehicle with which to pursue it. Here it is. My mission is to help others discover, empower, master becoming the best you be through honesty, integrity, and commitment in all I do. One of the leaders in ViSalus, the #1 weight loss platform, said it best. Johnna Parr said, "It is best to first start with yourself and do not let yourself down." So with that, I am sharing that I want to discover and empower and master myself so that I can make a difference in others. I begin with defining who I am. This was inspired because I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a Toast Master Group so that I can gain confidence and competence in my speaking and communications. The video link below is my first presentation: an introduction of who I am... :) So everything we do in life comes down to a decision!!! There is a fork in the road do you turn left or right? It doesn't matter except that you should respond rather than react. Reaction leads to frustration and conflict while when you respond you have had an opportunity to overcome obstacles that lay ahead.
My fork in the road? Well ViSalus had a great Vitality weekend. Do it or don't do it. A 19 year old young man said, "Well why wouldn't I. I have always been into fitness (I'm thinking your only 19 and he is smiling and happy) and it cuts fat, builds muscle, and it works. Yeah sure I am doing this!" Life is easy. When you make the decision to do it, go forward with a joy in your step and enjoy. Vitality in Orlando, Florida was terrific. Thanks Blake Mallen, Nick Sarnicola, & Ryan Blair... My fork in the road. To have or not to have a challenge party... Really? Just go do it... Wow so my mother and my sister and I were on a thinking session today. I was reminding them that EVERYTHING in life comes down to making a decision. Back when I struggled a little in my marriage, I know that may not have happened to any of you, but I was told that Love is a choice. Love is a choice, but it is a choice to get up and decide to be happy. Mama always told me if I woke up cranky to get back in bed and climb out of the other side of bed. It was a choice to make a change, :). Sometimes we make little changes that we are not necessarily aware of. for example, after I got married I did not make it back into the gym. It did not really effect me for a few years and then some 20 plus years later I am not sure how I was the biggest I had ever been, ugh. So much for my belly fat... I was just bigger and much encourage for many reasons for my weight gain: getting older, hormones, babies, slow metabolism... All of these were acceptable... BUT what about my choices!!! My choices to no longer go to the gym, or my choice to increase my food intake, or my choices to drink more sugar, and what about my chocolate, :). It is all about a DECISION. This year I made the decision to not be fat, frumpy, and fifty... I chose fit, fabulous, and fifty. It took more than 21 days to make my choices a good habit. It took almost 4 months but now the activities I have chosen have made a positive impact, pounds and inches gone... Visit www.AOWeightLoss.com for the updates, my 90 day challenge is almost done... So it is a decision to be Happy, it is a decision to get up and to what we must, it is a choice to be respectful. What do you want for yourself: to lose weight, to go to school, to find a new job, to run a marathon. Make it your decision to BE YOUR BEST!!! Make it a blessed day.
We have had a wonderful holiday break at the beach and enjoying all the relaxation and fun... Beach, sand, banana boat rides, purchases from beach vendors... but there is still more than just the beach to life. I did not stay as disciplined here and perhaps if I lived here I might be more disciplined, but I miss the connection of making a difference. There are still any blessings: seeing your daughter all grown up and enjoying the weekend, appreciating the friendships with those whom we shared the weekend, and the peace and calm that shows someone much greater than I is in control. The ocean brings a peace and understanding that life is precious and beautiful. The ebb and flow of the tide shows that we cycle not only through different decades of our lives but there is a daily cycle of forward and backward motion that controls the tides of our lives. I look forward to coming home and continuing my journey of BYB-DWR: Be Your Best - Do What's Right. Make the choice to enjoy life today.
How do you know if you are successful? When you were in school the method of deciding if you were successful and able to continue on to college was through a Report Card... How do you measure success when it comes to weight loss? You must keep record of your weight and measurements. That means it must be written down. I realized that I have kept records from the very first Bally's Health Club opened in the Chicagoland area in 1980. Yes I was young and thought I was heavy and what I would not give to have those measurements again... PS I am on a 90 Day challenge to get there. Read the up dates on www.AOWeightloss.com,
. So yesterday in church I was challenged to know how many prayers God has answered. It coms in the form of journaling. I am sad because I realized that I burned past journals and information and contacts because are all lost... So if you journaled today think about how strong you would be next month to see all that God accomplished in your life? That was my pastor's question. So, today I have begun journaling not only my prayers, but each section of my work, and of course I have the body map. 30 Day Challenge starting July 1st. To journal not necessarily here but in my journal to know how I can be stronger because of the experiences I will have. Blessings V- Feature Article
Use the “A Plus” Strategy This strategy can be used in every situation that you may come across. It is a habit we make to become better aware of what we do and how we can improve. Have you faced the frustrations of trying to accomplish one of your goals and you were not able to find the results. Use the “A Plus”. How good has your communication been with those most important to you? The struggle of life can be more than we would like to manage at any one time. Here are 3 basic steps to helping find renewed success in what you do. “A Plus” Strategy Awareness & Acknowledgement: We may know where we want to go and that is always a strong position to be in, but just knowing our goal or destination is not going to get us there. It is difficult to explain to you how to get to the center of Chicago, if I do not know where you are coming from. If you begin in New York that trip would look much different than if you began in Los Angeles. Action & Implementation: Do you remember how afraid you were at your first day of school? The only way to get over that was to face the other kids who also were coming. After the first week, those fears were gone. School was not so hard. Well, anything we face in life is based on that same principal: Live Life with Courage. Take action and work through the fear. Courage is being scared to death— and saddling up anyway. ~ John Wayne. Assess & Examine: Finally, take time to see where you are at with the action you have taken, if you are getting closer then continue on. If you are not getting to where you want to go you have two choices. One: whine and complain that things aren’t working. Two: Decide to make the changes necessary and start over. Acknowledge, Action, and A Written by Vilma Blum – Business & Life Coach , Copyright 2006 So I have been informed that Obesity is no a medical disease, the AMA, American Medical Association, has declared it. The truth is the SAD, Standard American Diet, has made it so. We have focused on having a large load of carbs and breads on the bottom of the pyramid. Turn the pyramid upside down and load the bottom with extra vegetables and fruits and we win!!! It is that easy. Make the decision to make a conscience effort to eat more colors and your waist line will shrink. PROMOTE WHAT YOU LOVE INSTEAD OF BASHING WHAT YOU HATE!!!
There is a statistic that says in 2020 3out of 4 of us will be OBESE and at 50% of us will be diabetic. Do you believe that you can make a change today and DECIDE not to be one of the 75%ers. Be in charge of your life and make it real. The 90 Day challenge may seem to get boring, your can come up with many excuses to quit, but that is what they are EXCUSES. Decide why you are making the change and remind yourself EVERY DAY of YOUR REASON WHY!!! Size 8 feels better than ice cream tastes!!! Health is better than the IV because of a heart attack... Go, Make the Change Today |
