So, you too have had lemons thrown in your day... Before the lemonade you must first squeeze the lemon and it is sour!!!
Just before a break through there is a breakdown. Think about that. The problem is that we are creatures of habits. When the tough gets going we seem to get stopped out of the blessings. It is a pattern in all areas of your life. Some areas are more sensitive then others: relationships, finances, work or school. The best thing to do is work through the break down so that you can rise up and overcome your obstacle. We have to squeeze the lemon: there is pain, discomfort in being squeezed... Next, we have to add water and sugar: now the perfect drink... The blessing of your work. Now go apply this to where you are. Live Better - Be Better Blessings, Vilma

It is sometimes difficult to just pick up and keep going doing what needs to be done, but that is what is required of us. Life was never meant to be just a bowl of cherries and we all seem to understand that there are obstacles that come in everyone's life, but when it happens to you personally we just are not prepared. I found that the most difficult part of life is self discipline. If you want to loss weight, it takes self discipline. If you want to become a good tennis player it requires self discipline. If you want to play piano well, it takes self discipline. There you go, whatever it is you want in life, IT TAKES SELF DISCIPLINE. Now the trick is how to put that into our lives and get the results we are looking for and need. AAA: AWARENESS: first step to moving forward ACTION: what are you going to do to get it done ADJUSTMENT: now are you getting there and if not what changes are you needing to make. Go make it a great day. Pick up your boots. The Christian shoemaker does his duty not by putting little crosses on the shoes, but by making good shoes, because God is interested in good craftsmanship. Blessings, Live Better - Be Better Vilma Here is the ultimate lesson. It is an ultimate sacrifice!!!
If you haven't figured it out yet, my faith is everything of who I am. When I thought of this I just couldn't let go. God sent his only son to die on the cross. No one, not you or I could have taken Christ's place. It was his cross to bear. This is my cross. It is heavy and it is mine. People can come along side you as you carry the cross. Christ had his friends and support, you have yours and I have mine, but in the end the only one who can bear your cross is you. I have friends that have difficulties in their lives. I cannot take the obstacles and struggles away from them. I can come along side, I can give help, and I can even carry the burden for a little while, but it comes times one they can bear their own cross. Each of us has our struggles. The pain is real and the anger, frustration and the cry of your heart is real. The gift and peace comes in knowing that you are not alone and through all of it Christ is with you. Hope, faith & love are the keys. I have always said that you should not pray for patience. Only pray for patience if you want tests for patience. So what should you pray for. Ask Solomon. You should pray for wisdom. Wisdom to know what to do, who to lean on, where to go. Wisdom is the answer. If you ask, God will give. So wisdom and clarity are my usual prayer requests. Nice right.
OK, so what do I do with the anger, frustration, and hurt. I begged for it to go away for that I would have clarity. You cannot make wise decisions without clarity and you cannot have clarity if you are always angry, mean, mad, and moody. Having those feelings are not wrong. They are part of life. It is what you do with those feelings and how you handle them that makes a difference. It all comes down to choices. You are ultimately responsible for your own actions. The biggest key to understanding if you made a mistake and are learning from it comes in repenting. Did you feel remorse? Are you sorry for what you did? Have you apologized to the right people? Making mistakes is human. How we handle our mistakes is our character. Own up to your responsibility. Be a man of integrity, honesty, and self respect. Do What's Right - Be Your Best - with God's help!!!! When life throws you a LEMON, make some lemonade...
Wow, that is really hard to do sometimes isn't it!!! Here is a profound lesson I have learned this week. I am sure I will have more to come because learning to walk by faith iss hard. Walk by faith, hmmm, trusting God when you cant see where you are going or when someone has thrown blinders on you. Yes, walking by faith... People who are driven by faith know what it takes: Asking just for wisdom and clarity!!! My first pearl of wisdom: We are all alone in this together, together we are each alone. I said that at my father's funeral when I realized how differently each of my children mourned the loss of their grandfather. Here we were all together but alone each one of us processes through life's ups and down differently. Here is the lesson I learned from Opa, my father. Daddy told us to mourn but one when he was gone and then go on and honor God every day.. He knew his time here on earth was short and he was still responsible for preparing us for what was to come. Reflecting on his first year away from us I have felt like I was failing becaasue I did not know how to do that every day. Of course, the truth is it is in our daily living that we honor God. As a family we mourned for more than one day. We celebrated his life and enjoyed recounting the many memories of friends and family. Now I too have something to mourn even if it isn't a person. Yes, I have a major change in my life. 27 years of being married and my life is turned upside down. My husband wants a divorce. Not going into the details of the situation, life has thrown me a lemon and now I am supposed to make lemonade. The best advice everyone gave my mother as a new widow is to not make any drastic changes your first year alone. So, in my mourning the loss of a family, I too wont make drastic changes in the first year. Know that God is in control, have peace, and beg for clarity and wisdom... I will explain that in my next pearl of wisdom.... Blessings to each of you, Vilma - Do What's Right - Be Your Best - with God's help. So it is the end of the year. Great time for reflection...
This past month I attend a business networking meeting and we were to write a letter pretending it was December 2014. So excited to see this future: Erich graduates, my business is growing, and I am 15 pounds skinnier!!! How exciting is that. If life were only that easy that we can write our scripts. The truth of the matter is that we do write our scripts only sometimes we don't realize that we have control of the pen and before we know it someone else has written how your life will turn out. Make it different this year for yourself. Dream what you want, You write it out, You make it happen. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Blessings to you, Live Better - Be Better Vilma I was reflecting this morning about life and its journey. It is amazing while we are young that there are so many dreams in our hearts of the many jobs we might like to have or places we would like to travel. I know officially have done my job of getting my children through high school, but the hard part comes in encouraging each one to find his place in this world. Find what you like to do because you will never work a day in your life. Well, that is easier said than done. I was fortunate enough that I did do what I loved. I LOVED being a mom. And though that does not stop for me I will always be a mom but my role is different now and all of a sudden I am in the same shoes as my children looking for a new identity to impact and influence my world. As a parent all these years it is amazing how much I am like my mother. I enjoyed and encouraging my children and with each phase I understand my mom better. It is amazing how smart are parents are when we grow up, :). So back to my original thought: my children are looking for their identity; I am looking for my identity now that I am no longer a mom of children in a home. And then it hit me, my mom was also searching for her new identity. Recently widowed, my mom is in search of who she is without my dad here on earth. Strange, yes. We walk this earth in search of who we are and the search is continuous. It is in the journey that we must find peace and the ability to influence others and more importantly ourselves. That is not to say that we do not have struggles and obstacles along the way, we do, but it is through life that we find our purpose. I recorded a three minute review but I am still learning about technology online so I will share a written review.
I listened to a mentor Lisa Nichols. She did a podcast that shared her story and journey to becoming her best. She was a broke single mother who could not even afford diapers for her 8 month old. Years later as her success was in front of her she found herself engaged and looking forward to being married when she realized her fiancé was abusive. She then went to seek medical help and was diagnosed clinically depressed. She was so successful in her business, but her personal was in a mess. She asked the doctor, "You mean I am sad?" Yes! Part of her recovery came because she decided to ask herself three questions every morning. Initially she could not finish the statements without crying and without feeling like she was searching for any answer. Here are the steps. 1. Look in the mirror and look in your eyes when you speak. 2. Use your name at the beginning of each statement. 3. Do this as long as you need to: 6 month+ Finish each of these Statements: Vilma (your name), I am proud of... - find anything, there is a reason to stand tall Vilma (your name), I forgive you for... - we forgive others but often forget to forgive ourselves Vilma (your name), I commit to you... - we commit to others things we need to do, NOW commit to yourself I tried this, I too cried... silly right... Let me know how this makes you feel and hopefully after the initial of feeling awkward, incompetent, or whatever other feeling you have found a way to find a way to increase your personal happiness & confidence.
