Use the “A Plus” Strategy This strategy can be used in every situation that you may come across. It is a habit we make to become better aware of what we do and how we can improve. Have you faced the frustrations of trying to accomplish one of your goals and you were not able to find the results. Use the “A Plus”. How good has your communication been with those most important to you? The struggle of life can be more than we would like to manage at any one time. Here are 3 basic steps to helping find renewed success in what you do. “A Plus” Strategy Awareness & Acknowledgement: We may know where we want to go and that is always a strong position to be in, but just knowing our goal or destination is not going to get us there. It is difficult to explain to you how to get to the center of Chicago, if I do not know where you are coming from. If you begin in New York that trip would look much different than if you began in Los Angeles. Action & Implementation: Do you remember how afraid you were at your first day of school? The only way to get over that was to face the other kids who also were coming. After the first week, those fears were gone. School was not so hard. Well, anything we face in life is based on that same principal: Live Life with Courage. Take action and work through the fear. Courage is being scared to death— and saddling up anyway. ~ John Wayne. Assess & Examine: Finally, take time to see where you are at with the action you have taken, if you are getting closer then continue on. If you are not getting to where you want to go you have two choices. One: whine and complain that things aren’t working. Two: Decide to make the changes necessary and start over. So I have been informed that Obesity is no a medical disease, the AMA, American Medical Association, has declared it. The truth is the SAD, Standard American Diet, has made it so. We have focused on having a large load of carbs and breads on the bottom of the pyramid. Turn the pyramid upside down and load the bottom with extra vegetables and fruits and we win!!! It is that easy. Make the decision to make a conscience effort to eat more colors and your waist line will shrink. PROMOTE WHAT YOU LOVE INSTEAD OF BASHING WHAT YOU HATE!!!
There is a statistic that says in 2020 3out of 4 of us will be OBESE and at 50% of us will be diabetic. Do you believe that you can make a change today and DECIDE not to be one of the 75%ers. Be in charge of your life and make it real. The 90 Day challenge may seem to get boring, your can come up with many excuses to quit, but that is what they are EXCUSES. Decide why you are making the change and remind yourself EVERY DAY of YOUR REASON WHY!!! Size 8 feels better than ice cream tastes!!! Health is better than the IV because of a heart attack... Go, Make the Change Today Killer at Large1, a documentary film by Steven
Greenstreet, tackles the topic of obesity, a problem of truly epic proportions where misinformation is a major driver. According to former Surgeon General, Richard Carmona, quoted in the film: “Obesity is a terror [threat] within; it's destroying our society from within and unless we do something about it, the magnitude of the dilemma will dwarf 9/11 or any other terrorist event that you can point out." Presently, a full two-thirds of Americans are overweight or obese. Childhood obesity has also skyrocketed, tripling over the past 30 years. One in three children between the ages of 10 and 17 is now overweight or obese, and 27 percent of young adults, 17 to 24, are too heavy to join the military. As a result, today’s children may be the first generation whose life expectancy is shorter than that of their parents.... According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an estimated 110,000 Americans die as a result of obesity each year, and about one-third of all cancers are directly related to it. Data collected from over 60,000 Canadians also shows that obesity now leads to more doctor visits than smoking. One-in-four Americans is also pre-diabetic or diabetic, and heart disease and cancer, both of which are associated with obesity, top the mortality charts. Clearly, the issue of how to achieve good health has never been more pertinent to more people. Yet despite the enormity of this problem, very little is being done to effectively combat obesity. The film examines the causes of obesity and suggests ways to reverse this deadly trend. Below, I sum up my own recommendations as well. It’s quite clear that conventional diet and health recommendations are off the mark... Obesity and related health problems are directly attributable to flawed diet—a diet too high in carbs and poor-quality proteins, and too low in healthy fats. http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/killer_at_large# click here for I have been supportive to others on the challenge and reminding everyone we lose a few and then stabilize. Well I have plateaued off at 12 - 14 pounds. Not bad you say and I will kick it in on Monday because I really have had many days with only one shake not two. Good news is that life happens and I HAVE NOT GAINED any weight, but today!!!! I put on my SKINNY shorts, the one that hides and waits for you to fit into, :) Very Exciting... when I did not lose weight I changed shape, and that is better!!!
Thanks to also those individuals that encouraged and inspired me this week... V So are you tired of all my posts? I am just learning how a blog really works and transferring info I had from somewhere else...
Mostly I can pull the I am old card and just learning something new. Learn something new every day and appreciate your life. :) Beijos.. (that's kisses in Portuguese) So I started the 90 Day Challenge 50 DAYS AGO!!!! I cannot believe it has been that long or that it has been awhile since day 22 that I have not kept up.
results: down 14 pounds more than 7 seven inches off... Vivian Beck down 15#, Jeff Dahlberg down 20#, Wilson Klassen down 8# (he takes only one shake a day), Rhonda Furmanek down 10# and blood sugar stabilized - She is a diabetic.... What I have realized is that I have held my weight for a couple of weeks. I have noticed that what happened to me on this challenge is that I lose a couple of pounds in one week and then I halt for a week or two and then I lose. The problem with this that you want to see the results fast, but if you remember the tortoise and the hare... the tortoise WINS!!! Be a tortoise and stay in line being consistent with your actions. |
